Today I am sharing a vegetarian Keto recipe; Keto Pepper Paneer. The most trending weight loss diet right now is the ketogenic diet. We Indians have different food habits and spices and we need to work on our recipes to make our very own Indian version of Keto recipes. The internet is full of non-vegetarian recipes which we Indians cannot follow every day.  These keto recipes need to be tweaked to Indianize them. The daughter eats non-veg but sparingly and could not eat it every day. I made some fresh paneer and made a Pepper Paneer dish for her to eat. A vegetarian keto diet needs to meet the macro nutrient targets and that is a real challenge.  Most vegetarian dishes lack sufficient protein.

For Indian Vegetarian, Paneer is a good ingredient for maintaining the ketogenic state. Paneer has versatile uses; you can make kofta, pakora/bajji, butter masala, dosa, tandoori or as I am just making Pepper Paneer. Butter and ghee should be used liberally with Paneer to maintain ketogenic state.  Forsake the oil and use the butter and ghee and I use cream to top it all. Paneer is naturally soft and easy to eat and it incorporates the flavours of the spices. The creamy soft paneer flavoured only with pepper has a very unique taste.

Recipe for Keto Pepper Paneer

Ingredients:

150 gms paneer

1 onion chopped fine

½ inch ginger crushed

2 tbsp butter

4 tbsp cream

Salt to taste

½ tsp pepper

Fresh Coriander to garnish

Keto Pepper Paneer

Method:

Heat the butter in a pan and add the sliced onions. Sauté till pink and add the crushed ginger. Add the cubed Paneer and stir till done. Add the salt and the pepper.

Beat the cream and add it to the cooked Paneer. Stir nicely and remove from fire.

Your Keto Pepper Paneer is ready. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.

My writing was limited to school essays and projects for my kids and out of the blue, my writing career began with writing articles for the magazine section of a reputed national newspaper. I rediscovered my best subject at school and began writing with gusto. I had a weekend column in the newspaper which was well appreciated. I started off writing about Interiors and Gardens and later diverse topics like Fashion, trends, food and events in the city. Juggling my time between various jobs down the years and my writing, I have written content for fliers, brochures for colleges, speeches, social media content and also website content. I love writing and I am open to writing on a plethora of topics. My blog has some interesting insights into my life and travels but now it is mainly a food blog as I am growing organic vegetables and cooking my own produce is very therapeutic. Read my blogs to know me better. I write from my heart and what I write is what I feel... I feel a feel, A funny feel A funny feel, feel I! If you feel the feel I feel You'll feel the same as I!!
