The recipe for Tomato and Avocado Salsa sauce was overdue and here it is now. I wouldn’t mind writing about Salsa dance or Salsa music either as they are both lively and vibrant like the spicy salsa sauce. I thought Salsa was only the Spanish word for sauce but I have learnt that it is used in Italian, Greek and Turkish cuisine too.
I have been cooking Mexican recipes and most of them have the Salsa as a dip. It is mainly a tomato-based sauce or dip that is an assorted mixture that contains further ingredients such as onions, garlic, chilies, beans, corn, avocado and various spices. It is typically spicy, ranging from mild to extremely hot according to taste buds.
Salsa roja or red sauce or even known as Salsa Mexicana is used as a condiment in Mexican cuisines; usually has cooked tomatoes, chili peppers, onion, garlic, and fresh cilantro. I couldn’t help pondering on how similar it was to our Punjabi ¨pyaaz tamatar¨ ki subzi. When the groceries are almost over then this subzi is a life saver and tastes great with roti or rice.
This Salsa is the most common version but there are many lesser known ones. Even in restaurants like we are served roasted papad with a kimchee or an Onion tomato chili salsa, restaurants here serve salsa with Tostado.
Creamy avocado salsa I made is a sauce made from avocado, lime, cilantro, Serrano peppers, garlic, olive oil and salt.

Remove from fire and add the cilantro.
Now this salsa can be eaten as it is or you can give it a spin in the blender. Pulse it in the blender until it is fully blended but still has a coarse texture.
Serve with tortilla chips or Nachos or any dish of your choice.
