Instructions
  1. Heat 2 teaspoon ghee in a pan. Add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds and let seeds crackle.
  2. Add the sabut moong dal and saute for a couple of minutes.
  3. Add the rice, turmeric powder, salt and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Now add the chopped kale leaves. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Don’t forget to add the slit green chillies and mix well.
  6. Transfer to a pressure cooker and add the buttermilk. Stir to mix everything, cover and pressure cook on high heat for 2 whistles.
  7. Lower the heat and cook further for 2-3 whistles.
  8. Switch off the heat and open the cooker lid only when the steam has been let out.
  9. Open the lid and mix well.
  10. In a pan heat 2 tablespoons ghee and add the garlic and ginger. Sauté till garlic and ginger are well browned.
  11. Pour this over the cooked khichdi and mix well. Drizzle some more ghee while serving. Serve Sabut Moong Ki Khichdi with Kale Recipe super-hot.
