When it’s too hot for hot coffee, make Cold coffee in a jiffy! I love the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans wafting through the air before I have my cuppa but then this scorching summer heat puts me off the hot steaming filter coffee. The best alternative to having your caffeine kick is by making your own iced caffeinated beverage.
It’s easy to make and cool to sip a glass of chilled cold coffee in this sweltering heat. I love the feel of the condensing droplets on the glass and the tinkling sound of the ice-cubes.
Each one of us has our own way of churning cold coffee…here is mine
Recipe for Cold Coffee in a Jiffy
Ingredients:
Nescafe Classic Coffee powder – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 4 tbsp
Cold Milk – 2 cup
Lukewarm water
1 cup chilled water.
A bowl of ice cubes
Method:
In a blender, mix warm water with coffee powder, sugar and blend until the colour changes and it is frothy. I like to get my hot coffee too frothy by beating it with a spoon for a long time.
I do not like whole milk coffee as it becomes too heavy for my delicate tummy. I add a cup of chilled water to two cups of cold milk to the coffee blend in the mixer.
Blend all the ingredients till it is frothy. Add a few ice cubes and blend to get more froth.
Tada…your coffee is ready!
Serve it chilled by spooning some ice in a tall glass and pour the cold coffee till the brim.
Dust some cocoa powder on the top and drink with a straw or take a long swig.
