Heat 2 teaspoon ghee in a pan. Add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds and let seeds crackle.
Add the sabut moong dal and saute for a couple of minutes.
Add the rice, turmeric powder, salt and saute for 2 minutes.
Now add the chopped kale leaves. Stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Don’t forget to add the slit green chillies and mix well.
Transfer to a pressure cooker and add the buttermilk. Stir to mix everything, cover and pressure cook on high heat for 2 whistles.
Lower the heat and cook further for 2-3 whistles.
Switch off the heat and open the cooker lid only when the steam has been let out.
Open the lid and mix well.
In a pan heat 2 tablespoons ghee and add the garlic and ginger. Sauté till garlic and ginger are well browned.
