Cuisine World Cuisine

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh Pink Guava chopped.
  • 1/4 th cup pomegranate pearls
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4th cup weak black tea or Iced Tea Powder
  • 1/2 cup Cold water
  • 1 tray Ice cubes
  • 1/2 inch Mango Ginger optional
  • 1 sprig mint leaves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 Pinch black salt

Instructions

  • Wash Guava and chop into wedges. You can peel the skin to get a really pink colour but the nutrients would be reduced. I do not peel guavas.
  • Make a weak tea decoction and cool in the fridge.
  • Take the chopped guava in a blender, pomegranate pearls, add sugar, ginger, mint and cold water and blend.
  • Strain through a sieve to remove the seeds.
  • Take a tall glass and pour the tea decoction in it. Add ice cubes till the top.
  • Now pour the guava juice over the ice cubes. Sprinkle some ginger juliennes on the top.
  • On a toothpick skewer the guava wedge, lemon ring and mint and place it on the rim.
  • Your Pink Guava Iced tea is ready to sip and it is like ambrosia in this March heat.

Notes

Notes: Add a dash of Sprite or Club Soda to make a fizzy drink.
You can even add vodka instead of the tea to make a cocktail.
Peel the guava for a darker pink coloured drink.
Ginger can be optional
