I recently watched a movie named outfit. The protagonist explained the difference between a tailor and a cutter. Being a cutter takes a lot of work to perfect the craft. In the hum drum of fast paced life, premade clothing is the norm. Nothing beats the personalized experience of working with a cutter. Your introduction in this post reminded me of my childhood days. Seems like Fabcurate bridges that gap between a 1:1 cutter and mass produced premade clothing. Many online shops are providing custom or semi-custom clothing experience. Glad that outfits like Fabcurate are there so the craft can live on.

I have tried readymade blouses from fabcurate Harjeet and it is fairly reasonable compared to other such sites… but I had to alter as their sizes don’t match with the sizes of other sites. However, I noticed that they have a huge collection of fabrics, but like u mentioned, it turns out pretty expensive n to find a good tailor is another hassle. However, I really got tempted by their collection of materials and I may buy fabrics instead of readymade in my next purchase.
I personally explored this store very recently and was impressed with its collection. I recently placed order for 3 m fabric of floral print and the product is awesome.
Oh .. for a long I was drooling to order from my fabcurate. I always browse their collection but never bought anything as I was not sure about their authenticity. Thanks for this post.
I hardly go for custom made tailoring. Mostly I am a an readymade shopper. I do buy material sometimes and give it for stitching but that is mostly a full set of fabric which I just need to give to the tailor and deign it. I love ikkat designs. They look very traditional at the same time you can give a modern touch also and it never goes out of fashion.
There is a certain charm in purchasing fabric and then getting it custom stitched. These days readymades are just quicker and more convenient. I haven’t explored Fabcurate yet, Will surely check it out.
ohhh! having something tailored nowadays seems to be only for the wealthy while I don’t also agree that tailored clothing is much better than those ready made. If you happen to find a tailor who really makes the right fitting for you, then lucky you. On those few occasions I’ve tried some dresses to be tailored, most of them still are ill-fitting. Finding ready made ones is sometimes more convenient.

I used to shop for material at a local shopping street in Bangalore. They have also have good tailors there …so it was easier to get it done up. And it was on the way back from work for me. Now, it is too far off to travel in the growing traffic. So I mostly just order ready to wear stuff online. Haven’t tried fabcurate till now – may be for the next purchase as the collection seems good.

Although the pros are many, I find the hunt for the perfect tailor really elusive. Fab curate has an incredible collection of fabrics. I own a good collection of theirs myself and love them.

I am not amazed to know that you are a fashion designer too, because I am very sure you have many talents. This one too is too good. However, if you tell me about myself, I can only make designs via stitching, making cloths is very hard for me.
