Mango Mint Iced Tea
This is the 9th post for #BlogchatterA2Z 2021 powered by Blogchatter. Mango Mint Iced tea is in my hands as the heat is on and the mangoes are all over the marketplace. There is no dearth of drinks to breeze you through these sweltering days and the flavours are mind-boggling. Keep it fresh and keep it as natural as possible. The air is dehydrating and the tummy is so delicate that it can barely take in solids. Then just drink, drink and drink to hydrate yourself and keep you full. Mango Mint Iced Tea is a delicious and peculiarly refreshing concoction with syrupy mango juice, mint and iced tea.
The king of fruits is much loved so why not make the most of this golden fruit. Iced tea is my choice whenever I feel very thirsty. You can change the flavours according to your taste. Lemon is the most popular and sweet lime, orange, pomegranate, peach are other choices.
Recipe for Mango Mint Iced Tea
INGREDIENTS
1 mango pureed
5 tbsp tea decoction
Sugar as desired
5 sprigs mint
1 tbsp lemon juice
Lime wedges for garnishing
120 ml vodka(optional)
METHOD
Firstly, heat 2 cups of water in a pan for 2 to 3 minutes until hot.
Next, add 1 tsp tea powder or 1 tea bag and turn off the flame after 30 seconds. Now, cover the pan and let the tea steep into the water. Strain the tea after 2 minutes and let it cool.
Actually, if you want a nice mint flavour then add a few mint leaves to the tea and keep it in the fridge for a couple of hours.
Subsequently, puree the mango with a little water and add sugar if the mango is sour.
Finally, to serve, strain the tea again to remove the mint leaves. Consequently, pour the mango juice into the glasses and add ice cubes. Top with tea and lime juice. Garnish the glass with a lemon wedge and a sprig of mint.
Believe it or not, instead of lime juice, you can add vodka to make it an evening cocktail.
I somehow like to rim the glass as it gives a very different texture to the drink.
To do that firstly, moisten the rim with a lime wedge or dip the glass in lime juice.
Dip the glass in whatever powder you want to rim the glass in(salt or sugar) Turn the glass upside down and dip firmly and give it a twist. Or hold the glass by its stem and carefully swirl it round in the saucer with the sugar so that it doesn’t enter the glass. Clean the rim with a tissue or napkin if any flakes stray or fall into the glass.
Mango Mint Iced tea is ready. Sip, slurp and cool down in this blazing heat.

Absolutely refreshing it sounds. As summer begins I know what would make me feel refreshed now.
I’ll omit the vodka and try this out! Do you need ripe mangoes for the drink? Or how about boiling raw mango in the aam panna style and making this drink?
I am going to try it with Vodka. That should be interesting. Might not add sugar. Can I not add sugar?
