Author Bio:
An engineer from BITS Pilani, Harshita Nanda, dons the hat of author and blogger with great ease. With her sincere passion for writing, she has published two e-books. The Blogchatter E-book carnival has launched 1000 books and Harshita is one of them. I am honoured to Book a Review of A Potpourri Of Drabble By Harshita Nanda. It is a page-turner with its simple storytelling. The compilation is an assortment that is diverse yet keeps you glued. Each story makes you ponder and think at the end.
Title and Cover & Title:
Drabble in the title fits the book perfectly. A drabble is writings of 100 words known for its brevity. The cover is with no frills but holds the attention with its well-thought-out shades of sapphire on the title and the border of flowers.
100 short stories: Yes, you read it right-100. It is a compilation of simple stories which talk of everyday situations in life. The best thing about short stories is that you can read at your pace. You don’t have to rush through it to get to an ending. In these days of audio storytelling, nobody has time to read large tomes. Mind you, writing a short story is much more difficult than writing a novel. In 100 words, it has an intro, subject, and conclusion. The stories are not devoid of emotions. There is romance as well as sorrow, infidelity and anxiety; all make a lasting impression on the mind, even in these nano stories.

The First Story;
Is it my Destiny is a touching tale of a mother losing her baby and then adopting one. For The First Time In My Life, I Felt Free is a candid tale of an oppressed woman breaking the shackles and freeing herself. The story Red heels is a poignant tale of happiness and death. It touches a chord in my heart as I have lost two of my loved ones. It made me choke with emotion. I will cease my eulogies and leave you to read and gauge the emotions in every minute tale.
Conclusion:
It’s a light read and you should read it to feel the play of emotions; from a rollercoaster to slow as a handcart. The imagery that Harshita portrays through her words is amazing.
