Valentine’s Day
Cosmopolitan Cocktail is my preferred drink usually as it has more juice and I think it suits Valentine’s day to the T. Love, Cupid, hearts, chocolates, cards and flowers are everywhere–it’s Valentine’s Day! On February 14, the world celebrates love and friendship. But where did this holiday of affection originate?
Marketing Gimmick?
It is named after a Christian martyr named Valentine. But somewhere along the way, Valentine’s Day came to represent romance. Buying expensive gifts for that someone special has become popular among love-struck couples. Cashing in on this, gift galleries, luxury watch brands, jewellery makers or hoteliers-everyone has something in store for couples willing to spend a bit to make V-day special. We all know that you can’t buy love but u can pay heavily for it.
This one is to all the singles in the world! Let’s celebrate! Cheers!
Personally, for me, every day should be Valentine’s Day, every hour should be valentine hour, every minute should be valentine minute & every second should be Valentine second. And like any other day, I am loving myself!
I made a Vodka Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail just for ME @self-love
Love for Strawberries

Strawberries are my favourite because they are diminutive, scarlet, heart shaped, luscious and fresh. While cruising on the Nile in Egypt we were served these unbelievably delicious sweet remarkably large and juicy strawberries. I fell in love again!
Cocktail Snippets
“What IS a cocktail? And the answer simple means; anything mixed together to attain a particular result. But actually, a cocktail is an alcoholic mixed drink, which is either a blend of spirits, or one or more spirits merged with other ingredients like fruit juice, lemonade, flavoured syrup, or cream.
I love Umbrellas and especially the tiny Cocktail umbrella’s placed on drinks. The first cocktail umbrellas started in China and had hidden scrolls of Chinese newspaper which can be read like fortune cookies. I would love for them to be back again.
Did you know why we “toast?”
Long long ago the Ancient Romans used to drop a piece of toast into their wine for wellbeing. They would also put the toast in their fellow drinkers’ wines and that’s where the axiom, “to toast”, comes from!
Cosmopolitan Cocktail
The cocktail I made is more or less known as Cosmo. It is a vodka-based cocktail perhaps now popular for being the preferred drink among the characters on the renowned television series Sex and the City. Its epochal place on the show has got its reputation as a girly drink.  I usually make a mocktail avoiding the vodka but since it was Valentine ’s Day, I was just indulging myself. I prefer it for its base of juice rather than the vodka.
