this easy creamy chicken recipe is the ultimate comfort food! meant to be cooked on a lazy weekend or a summer afternoon. succulent chicken pieces in a creamy sauce with a splash of cream is an easy yet elegant dish. tender chicken pieces are smothered in a creamy yoghurt marinade which is lip-smackingly delicious! this easy creamy chicken recipe is ready in about 30 minutes.

this is a creamy north indian or mughlai style chicken recipe which is flavoured with just crushed black pepper and kasuri methi. it is a fragrant chicken curry recipe which you can serve with parathas, roti, naan or even rice.

INGREDIENTS

500 gms chicken with bones

2 cups dahi/ yoghurt

1 tbsp lemon juice

salt to taste

1 inch ginger minced

8 cloves garlic minced

1 tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp kasuri methi or dried fenugreek leaves

½  cup fresh cream

1 tbsp oil

METHOD

firstly marinate the chicken. in a bowl, add lemon juice, salt and yoghurt and mix well.

pour onto the chicken pieces, mix well so that the chicken is properly coated with the marinade. once done keep it aside for an hour or two. you can also keep it aside overnight.

to make the curry, heat the oil in a skillet. once the oil is a little hot, add the crushed garlic, ginger, a little water and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. shake off the excess marinade and place the chicken pieces in the skillet and cook on both sides, about 5 min per side or until cooked through and browned on both sides. remove chicken from skillet and set aside. this will cook the chicken well increase the flavour.

meanwhile, pour-over the rest of the marinade on the chicken. cook the creamy chicken curry on slow flame till nicely done.

once the chicken is cooked, pour the cream and sprinkle the black pepper powder. stir well and let the chicken be evenly coated with the creamy sauce.

finally, crush the kasuri methi in your palm and sprinkle over the chicken. mix and turn off the flame.

Recipe Notes

1. marinate the chicken for at least 1 to 2 hours.

2. you can even cook in the cooker if you want to.

3. add water or milk if you want more gravy.
