Easy Milk Chicken Recipe
This post is a part of Blogchatter Half Marathon. One of my favourite childhood recipes cooked by my mom was the Easy Milk Chicken Recipe. You must be wondering how a milk chicken dish would taste but believe me it is out of this world. I was a very fussy eater but I would relish this chicken made by my mom and the taste still lingers although it has been ages since I tasted non-veg. I am glad that I remember her recipe and cook it most of the time. Even my kids and others whom I have cooked it for really appreciate the taste. Unlike most Indian chicken recipes it is a very simple one with hardly any spices. It can double as a kid-friendly recipe too as kids love the milky taste.
Whenever I am in the mood for light cooking I make this Easy Milk Chicken Recipe which is ready within 30 minutes!
Easy Milk Chicken Recipe
INGREDIENTS
½ kg chicken
2 onions chopped finely
1-inch ginger cut into juliennes
2 green chillies deseeded and slit
½ litre milk
1 tbsp. ghee or butter
Salt to taste
1 tbsp. Vinegar
Green chilli sauce
Coriander for garnishing
METHOD:
Firstly, heat the butter in a skillet; add the ginger and the green chillies.
Next, sauté and add the long sliced onions. Stir till onions turn pink and add the chicken. Sauté for a few minutes and add the milk.
Later, let it cook on medium fire till the chicken is almost done. It’s time to add the vinegar and salt. The vinegar helps to curdle the milk which coats the chicken pieces and gives it a unique taste.
It’s like paneer, actually.
Lastly, when the chicken is coated with the gravy add the chilli sauce.
Finally, garnish this Easy Milk Chicken Recipe with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan, roti or even rice.
