For most mango people aka aam aadmi, Alexa is the name of the voice that comes out of Alexa-enabled speakers. Chiefly, Alexa is a voice assistant that you can ask questions and get answers to, such as “What is rolling on #Blogchatter?” To begin with, this is the #MyFriendAlexa campaign hosted by Blogchatter – Season 5 to be exact. Sharing my two pence on how to do the #MyFriendAlexa Voyage with #Blogchatter!
What is an Alexa Rank?
Incidentally, in the world of blogging, Alexa Rank is an evaluation of how popular your site is comparative to other sites. This is my third #MyfriendAlexa campaign and believe you me it’s a heady feeling. For the first time, it was overwhelming. I had no clue what I had led myself into! I am the granny of the group I guess, technically challenged but I enjoyed the non-stop rollercoaster ride both times. If you are a doer and love the rush of blood then #MyfriendAlexa will get your pumping and how!
However, it is always better to know the insides of the well rather than jumping blindly into it, isn’t it?
The Alexa Rank is a parallel measure, your site’s rank is measured in comparison to traffic to other sites as well and not just yours. Networking is vital to turbocharge your blog into fifth gear. You could keep blogging forever and no one would know of your blog, what it’s all about. In layman’s term, it is “You scratch my back and I scratch yours!” Blog, Read, Share to take your blog higher on the Alexa scale.

How does Alexa get data?
Alexa has a large traffic data panel consisting of millions of people all over the world. For one thing, Alexa gauges the number of visitors to all websites on the Internet. It’s a complex calculation that comprises of amending for biases as well as recognizing and dumping fake or spam traffic.
I have been blogging consistently for 9 years and only now started noticing the fruit of posting engaging, unique content, updated consistently. Stick to your niche and garner readership to form a loyal band of followers.
