How to Make Pomegranate Iced Tea
Pomegranate Iced tea is a real thirst quencher on any day in the tropics. For one thing, it is an easy and delicious iced tea enhanced with the refreshing flavours of lemon, pomegranate, Sweet Basil or mint and it is a visually appealing drink.
Iced Tea is Healthier
Presently, I think all of us are cognizant about the health hazards of consuming aerated drinks. Despite that most of us reach out for a can more often than we should be and the present generation has actually grown up with a bottle of ‘Pop’ in their hand. Therefore, it’s time to ditch that soft drink for something healthier like Pomegranate Lemon Iced Tea which is just one option among many.
Dump Sodas, Drink Iced Tea
In fact, it is time we started trading in our colas for iced drinks. Especially, when the mercury is soaring, iced teas are the answer to lower your temperature! Infuse your tea with fruit, fresh herbs and natural sweeteners like jaggery, honey, demerara sugar or even crystal sugar. For example, there are a bunch of awesome drink options that are much more delicious than those unnatural fizzy sodas.
Tea has Anti-Oxidants
Most teas are full of antioxidants which surge if you drink tea that is flavoured with lemon. I have mint growing in my garden. Most of my iced teas always include mint which adds additional antioxidants and flavour. Iced tea is infused into water, which will keep you as hydrated as water.
Most Importantly, use black tea as the base or any flavoured iced tea you get in the market. Generally, I muddle fresh mint and pomegranate together for this lovely cold Pomegranate Lemon Iced Tea infusion.
A few other drinks that I swear by are Moringa Butter Milk, Aam Panna, Rooh Afza, Mango Drink, Ice Apple Sherbet, Raw Mango Iced Tea, Gond Katira, Jaljeera, Sugarcane Juice Coconut Water, Lychee Mojito, Virgin Mango Mojito.

Pomegranate Iced tea is a real thirst quencher on any day in the tropics. For one thing, it is an easy and delicious iced tea enhanced with the refreshing flavours of lemon, pomegranate, Sweet Basil or mint and it is a visually appealing drink.

- 4 cups Water
- 2 bags Lipton tea bags
- 4 tbsp demerara sugar or regular crystalsugar
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup smallof pomegranate juice
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 lemon Cut Round slices
- Few Fresh Basil or Mint leaves
- 1 liter Cold water
- Few cubes Ice
- Place a tea bag in a glass container with approximately half a cup of water. Allow it to steep for at least two hours at room temperature. You could even put the bag in boiling water and cool it but I prefer it this way. If desired, add lemon or lime juice or fresh mint to add flavour. I used Lipton (it is light) tea bags to make this chilled and visually enchanting, summertime favourite drink.
- Take a shaker. Pour the lemonade (lemon juice, sugar, and water) then the pomegranate juice and shake nicely. You can add honey or jaggery or plain sugar in place of Demerara sugar. In a glass add the pomegranate seeds, mint, ice, and muddle; top with the tea and garnish with mint leaves and a lime wedge.
- Most important of all, this Pomegranate Lemon Iced Tea is truly summer in a glass; full of delicate flavour, light and sparkly. This mocktail has divine ingredients like homemade lemonade, fresh pomegranate juice, and fresh basil.
I have tried Peach and apple flavoured iced tea but pomegranate also sounds refreshing. Will give it a try make it.
