Best Ayurvedic Skin Cream in Winter

Turmeric Powder for beauty

Turmeric| The Golden Spice of Beauty

Youth is a gift of beauty but age is a work of art; I am impressed with these words. You can be gorgeous at 30, stunning at 40 and irresistible for the rest of your life. Winter is much awaited for the festive season and parties but winters are harsh on the skin. We have to pamper our skin or it will be dry and chappy. When shopping for skin-care products, choose the right ones for younger and glowing looking skin. Today, I am sharing the  Best Ayurvedic Skin Cream in Winter

I am an advocate of natural skin-care; long before Golden Milk became popular in the west, turmeric was used in beauty rituals.  As a home chef, it’s hard not to love spice like turmeric. It is a miracle ingredient for your skin and is ubiquitous in India. Not only adding a golden hue to any dish it has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric, the miracle cure for winter

Largely, it heals everything. Digestion issues? Turmeric. Winter Skin concerns? Turmeric. It clears out damaged skin cells and leaves your skin soft and glowing. It also benefits skin concerns like pigmentation, signs of ageing and sun damage, and treats acne and stretch marks.

Curcumin, an active component in turmeric has skin-enhancing properties. This imparts glow and lustre to the skin. During my wedding ceremony, the Haldi ceremony was held. I was told that the smearing of Haldi makes your skin radiant and glowing on your wedding day. It categorically helps in exfoliating skin cells to reveal fresh and rejuvenated skin. Since then turmeric has become an integral part of my skincare routine.

Sensitive Skin in Winter

I have delicate skin and acne has been a perpetual skin issue. Always be vary about over-the-counter skincare products if you have sensitive skin like me. I am always on the lookout for herbal skin cream, preferably with turmeric as an ingredient. There are a million treatments in the market for acne but natural ingredients are the safest. Turmeric, with its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, stops bacteria from spreading thus reducing redness and inflammation of the blotch as well. The curcumin in turmeric reduces excess manufacture of melanin; this lightens the scars and keeps your skin blemish-free.

My mom used to make a Kasturi turmeric face pack for my sisters. She used to sit and grind the turmeric and a block of sandalwood; make a paste by adding rosewater to it. She used to apply this thick paste on their faces. They would rinse it off with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

Ayurvedic Skin Cream

But, I neither have the time or her patience to make a face mask at home. I just reach out for an Ayurvedic skin Cream, off the shelf. My preferred skin cream for all seasons is Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream

The two ingredients in this cream are Sandalwood and Turmeric.  Together, both these ancient and traditional ingredients, keep my skin glowing. It essentially helps in nurturing the skin, enhances and tones the skin. You can say goodbye to blemishes and scars and it also keeps skin hydrated during winter. In winters it is best to let the cream work overnight to keep your skin hydrated.

Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream

How to use

  1. Before going to bed, cleanse your face and apply the cream all over your face.
  2.  Leave it overnight
  3. Rinse off in the morning, preferably with Vicco Turmeric Cream with Foam Base – the Turmeric Wash

Vicco Turmeric-Face Wash

I am 57 now, past my menopause, (skin’s natural oils are depleted and crow’s feet start showing) when the skin becomes dry and wrinkled. But my skin is flawless, smooth, soft and supple; again thanks to this cream which I diligently apply every day. We cannot turn back the clock nor stop it but we can slow down the fine lines and wrinkles for sure. I am ready to take on the cold winter months anytime. Are you?

Check out these products on the website at Vicco.

My writing was limited to school essays and projects for my kids and out of the blue, my writing career began with writing articles for the magazine section of a reputed national newspaper. I rediscovered my best subject at school and began writing with gusto. I had a weekend column in the newspaper which was well appreciated. I started off writing about Interiors and Gardens and later diverse topics like Fashion, trends, food and events in the city. Juggling my time between various jobs down the years and my writing, I have written content for fliers, brochures for colleges, speeches, social media content and also website content. I love writing and I am open to writing on a plethora of topics. My blog has some interesting insights into my life and travels but now it is mainly a food blog as I am growing organic vegetables and cooking my own produce is very therapeutic. Read my blogs to know me better. I write from my heart and what I write is what I feel... I feel a feel, A funny feel A funny feel, feel I! If you feel the feel I feel You'll feel the same as I!!

All these points are really good. Turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components. These characteristics may provide glow and luster to the skin. Turmeric may also revive your skin by bringing out its natural glow. You may want to try a turmeric face mask at home to see if the spice has any positive effects on your skin. I use vicco turmeric. Vicco Turmeric skin cream vanishes into your skin & its active ingredients like turmeric and sandalwood oil restores the skin glow. The regular use of this cream results in soft, supple, and spotless skin. It also protects skin from acne, pimples, blemishes & other skin problems.

Your post reminded me of the advertisement. Vicco, I have never used this brand but now surely going to buy this. I use Aloevea gel as a moisturizer in my skin care routine. But I think in winters I should change because as we age our skin type also changes. And turmeric is the cure of any skin issue. Thanks for sharing.

I have full trust in Vicco turmeric cream; it is being used at my home for ages. I have seen it’s a permanent place in my mom’s purse. And the ritual is still following by us. Very effective on pimples, skin rashes, or acne due to its major ingredient, turmeric. I never experienced the foam face wash; I would love to give it a try.

A lovely post as always Harjeet. I swear by turmeric. It is a lifesaver for a hyperallergic person like me. I don’t use any product for my skin apart from the old nuskha of fresh cream and lemon juice. Haven’t tried turmeric since I am not fond of the yellowish hue.

I am also a big fan of Vicco Turmeric Cream for my face. I have been using it since my teens and have never had an acne problem except for some heat boils that break out now and then and go away in a couple of days. I have experimented with other newer creams that are available but always go back to Vicco….a tube is always there at home. Iam a Tamilian – a part of the daily bath ritual at my maternal home is to apply a little bit of turmeric on the face just at the end and rinse off after a few minutes. I stopped doing that once I got married, but I know that it helps keep the face clean. The only advantage being the yellow tinge that is left. But even this tinge is eliminated with the cream!

I have not used turmeric for my face wash but I use it as a drink in warm water or milk. I use multani mitti face pack with rose water. Doesn’t turmeric leave a yellowish hue on the face?

Turmeric is indeed an ideal ingredient to keep the body healthy from within and from the exterior appearance. My nani also used to make packs for us using kasturi haldi, chandan, and besan mixed with malai during winters. Those were such beautiful times. But now-a-days, we are all so busy and hardly have time to keep our skin healthy. So Vicco is an exccellent choice and a trusted brand too.
