Intant paniyaram

instant rava paniyaram | semolina dumplings

I is for instant for #BlogchatterA2Z

instant rava paniyaram | semolina dumplings is a very south indian breakfast recipe; punnugullu in andhra and paniyaram in tamilnadu, also known as appe. since i made it with dosa batter the other day, i decided to make this instant paniyaram with suji or semolina.

Appe pan

you need a special pan also known as aebleskiver pan to make appe or paniyaram.  this pan is available in the market or online in different sizes; from 7 to 12 or 14 discs too. check out the paniyaram recipe with dosa batter

enjoy instant paniyaram without soaking and making a batter which has to be set aside for hours. we usually make upma with suji or even ravva idli.try this instant paniyaram with semolina by adding curds or yoghurt to it. add a pinch of baking soda to the batter just before making the appe.it gives them a soft texture. some people use eno fruit salt as well.

the rava needs to be soaked in curd and water for at least half an hour prior to roasting the paniyaram. add ginger, capsicum, onion, carrot and coriander to prepare a nutritious vegetable appe recipe.  add or remove vegetables of your choice.

finally, i would like you to check out my other south indian breakfast recipes like dosa, rava dosa,  pesarattu, idly, mysore bajji,  punugulu recipe.

These are my daughter’s favorite tiffin snack. Though I have tried to appe with gram flour and pureed green moong dal. I have also made eggs in this pan … which my daughter calls as egg puffs.
