Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla

Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla

Fusion food is that where you merge different cuisines to make another and here I have brought Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla on one plate. I have had this fascination for mushrooms since childhood when I first saw pictures in Alice in Wonderland or the Pixies sitting on toadstools as they were called. The first time I got to eat them was not a pleasant experience but then taste has to be cultivated. Mushrooms are nothing but edible fungi and have many health benefits. They contain a lot of fiber and are full of water.

Tip to Clean Mushrooms

The mushrooms we get here are quite grubby and I don’t like to just wipe and use them. I sprinkle a little flour and cornflour on them and keep them aside for 10 minutes. Then I rinse them nicely and they are clean and white.

Cooking for one can be tedious at the same time very interesting. I cook only when I am in the mood but I always love to cook when my family is around or friends.

Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla

I cooked the mushrooms in Olive oil and sprinkled dry Italian herbs like Parsley, Thyme, Oregano. And I mixed 1 tbsp corn flour in soya sauce and chilli sauce to thicken the curry. This flavorful curry was then spooned into cone shaped.

Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla Method

Recipe for Italian|Chinese|Mushroom Stuffed Tortilla

INGREDIENTS

200 grams button mushrooms,

1 tsp garlic

1 tsp mixed dried herbs

1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4th tsp chilli flakes

1 tsp soya sauce

Salt to taste

1 tsp chilli sauce

2 tbsp water

1 tsp vinegar

1 tbsp Cornflour

Spring onion greens

1 small onion

METHOD:

Firstly, sprinkle some corn flour on the mushrooms and set aside for 10mins. Then rinse the mushrooms well to remove all the dirt. Drain and keep aside.

Now, heat olive oil in a pan, add garlic and sauté. Add the chopped onion and sauté them till translucent. Do not let the garlic turn brown.

Next, add the chopped mushrooms. Sauté the mushrooms till they shrink in size.

Subsequently, sprinkle the mixed herbs and salt. Mix well.

Once the mushrooms are well browned it means they are cooked.

After that, add the vinegar.

Consequently, make a slurry with the soya and chilli sauce, add the cornflour and mix all three with water.

Lastly, add the slurry to the mushrooms and stir well so that you get a thick glazed gravy that coats the mushrooms well.

Finally, garnish  Italian|Chinese|Mushroom gravy with spring onion greens.

Serve it rolled in tortillas, roti or in bread

To make cones-

Just roll the tortilla or roti like a cone. Keep it in shape by using cloves.

Any which way you serve these Italian Chinese-Garlic Mushrooms are delectable.
