Lemon Chicken

Lemon-Pepper Chicken

This Lemon-Pepper Chicken is a culinary winner, effortlessly adapting to your cooking preferences. Whether you savour the crispiness of fried chicken, the smokiness of a grilled preparation, the sautéed medley of flavours, or the hearty satisfaction of a baked or roasted dish, it’s a winner every time. And the best part? It’s budget-friendly and speedy, making it the reigning champion for non-vegetarians, much like how vegans relish potatoes.. Its versatility transcends borders, fitting seamlessly into diverse cuisines, from beloved Indian classics like Mughlai and Chettinad to international delights like Chinese stir-fries and English roasts.

In the realm of non-vegetarian cuisine, chicken stands tall as the ultimate source of protein. Its lean meat not only caters to your body’s nutritional needs but also has a calming effect, making it the perfect choice for a comforting dinner after a long, tiring day.

Today’s recipe is a lifesaver for health-conscious individuals and those facing surprise guests. With a cooking time of just ten minutes, it’s your go-to solution for whipping up a delicious meal in no time.

Recipe for Lemon-Pepper Chicken

Ingredients:

½ kg chicken

1 tbsp butter

½ tsp black pepper powder

1 onion, chopped (optional)

2 green chillies (optional)

1 lemon, sliced

Fresh coriander leaves

Method:

Heat a pressure cooker and add the butter. Once it’s hot, toss in the sliced onions and green chillies. Sauté until the onions turn a lovely shade of pink.

Add the chicken pieces, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until the flavours meld beautifully. Close the lid of the pressure cooker.

Let the pressure build up until you hear 2 whistles, then turn off the heat. Allow the steam to release naturally, and then open the cooker.

Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves on top for that final touch of freshness. Serve this piping hot, either with bread or roti.

Lemon-Pepper Chicken—ready in a jiffy! And even as a vegetarian, I prepare this dish with love, even though I can’t savour it myself. Try it and delight in the quick and tangy goodness!

Such an easy recipe. But everyone in the family is vegetarian. Though, I would love to try this with jackfruit or soya beans, or perhaps paneer.

Sooooo simple Harjeet and I m sure it’s really tasty too. I just have a question. In the pressure cooker the chicken leaves water… so we have to let it dry once we remove the lid right? or is this recipe the gravy types consistency since your serving suggestion says roti or bread?

Same here Harjeet, I too am a selective vegetarian but cook chicken for my family. This is such a fresh flavored recipe but I must be missing something because I could not figure out when the lemon goes in this recipe , is this at the end as a garnish, or the juice or while cooking.

This is one recipe my family would surely love! We’d probably have the ability to fly already of the gauge of having wings is based on chicken consumption. I guess there’s a lot of families who could relate to this especially the ones with kiddos.
