Butterfly Theme Tambola – Butterfly Theme Tambola: A Different Way to Play Tambola 5 New Ideas

Butterfly Theme Tambola

Butterfly Theme Tambola

Let me bring to light how our Butterfly Theme Tambola came about. It was certainly not because the butterfly symbolizes femininity but for the simple reason that the saris we five hostesses were going to wear had butterflies on them. That’s how we landed with our theme, as July has no important dates or festivals. Actually, the similarity stems from the graceful walk of a woman when compared to the floating flight of a butterfly. Interestingly, a woman too undergoes many changes in her life like the butterfly. Women overcome a change in life as they play many roles which are compared to a butterfly. The beauty of a butterfly’s wings is likened to women for their elegance. (I am digressing now.)

Our Tambola games were supposed to be very ordinary and simple but when five of us; Bindiya, Sunita, Varalakshmi, Tajinder and I got together to discuss we ended up with these Butterfly themed games and of course the dΓ©cor for the room. In contrast to just going and picking up tickets and festoons from the stores, we enjoyed making them ourselves.

The courier with the 5 similar butterfly saris had arrived and taking them as cue we immediately set out to make the butterfly streamers. For this purpose, the major contribution was from Bindiya and the rest of us pitched in to make these for these eye-catching butterflies. I felt as if I was transported back to my school days when we used to make streamers with coloured paper and stick them with rice paste. You can check out our efforts and applaud.

Game 1

Beautiful Butterfly

For this game, we pasted three butterflies of two kinds and one pair of butterflies. Firstly, we took line drawings of butterflies and then after printing them, we actually had great fun colouring them.

Additionally, we wrote two numbers on each and named the butterflies as Flight, Flitter, Flutter, Wild, Wings, Wind and Beautiful Butterfly.

The dividends for this Beautiful Butterfly Tambola

  1. Flight, Flitter, Flutter is one line
  2. Wild, Wings, Wind is another line
  3. Beautiful, Butterfly is the third line
  4. Left Column Butterflies
  5. Right Column Butterflies
  6. Housie-2

Game 2

Colourful Butterfly

In the first place, a bright caricature of a butterfly was used as the base of our ticket. Left wing, right wing, belly and face were where we wrote the numbers.15 numbers in all and then the housie. There was a luck element in this game.

Every ticket had a word written on the flip side. These words were made into chits and one chit was picked out after every 5 numbers called. Consequently, the lady who had that word on her ticket was given a token amount. All the words were related to butterflies; Feelers, fields, flight, flowers, fly, chrysalis, pupa, cocoon, etc

Dividends for Colourful Butterfly

  1. Right wing
  2. Left Wing
  3. Belly
  4. Face
  5. Housie-2

Game 3

At this point, we ran out of Butterfly themed games for Tambola and the third game was a  Shopping Tambola Game. There were grocery items listed out under products and Super Markets. Once you finished one section you had to call out the name of each.

Dividends for Grocery Shopping Tambola:

1. Complete one product is one dividend. 4 dividends of Chocolate, Dairy, Vegetable and a Drink.

2. Complete each shop. 4 dividends of shops; Reliance, Metro, More and Modern

3. Housie is when you finish the entire bazaar

Lastly, we had two quick, entertaining games.

Game 4

Match the names

45 butterflies were numbered randomly on a sheet of paper. On the flip side, the names of all the 45 ladies present were listed. You had to match the number of the butterfly with the name of the lady and write it on the butterfly in 2 minutes. In fact, the winner actually wrote 32 names in 2 minutes!!

Game 5

Butterfly Luck

Lastly, in the final game, blank Coloured pieces of paper were given to every player. After that, the participant had to write their name on the back side and on the front randomly write 15 numbers between 1 and 90. Then the papers were clipped with a tambola ticket and exchanged. Consequently. the winner was the one who had the most numbers cut from the clipped tambola ticket.
