Gratitude: Fuelling Growth with Thankfulness

I am participating in #BLOGCHATTERA2Z YEAR 2025 &  Blogging from A to Z Challenge! Gratitude is my grounding force. The whisper steadies me when life feels like a storm. It’s also the loud, thumping beat of my heart when joy overflows. Beyond saying thank you, gratitude has become a way of being, a lens through which I see my life, even in its most difficult moments. This is how I practice it- Gratitude: Fuelling Growth with Thankfulness

Gratitude in Tough Times: A Mindset Shift
There was a time when I believed I could only be grateful after things improved—after the pain passed, after the confusion cleared. But I’ve learned that real gratitude doesn’t wait for the storm to pass. It shows up in the middle of it. That’s when it transforms you.
The Practice That Changed Everything
Years ago, I started writing daily gratitude prayers. Some were whispered in peace, others written through tears. These small moments of reflection became a lifeline. If you followed my journey, you may have heard or read some of them on my YouTube, Prayer of Gratitude.
I started incorporating gratitude prayers into my daily routine. This practice became a cornerstone of my growth, helping me navigate life’s challenges with a thankful heart. I shared this journey in a reflective piece on my blog: 👉 Gratitude 2022/ Bring it On 2023
This practice wasn’t about sugarcoating life—it was about finding light in the cracks. Gratitude gave me perspective, and that perspective gave me peace.
Thankfulness for the Ordinary

Gratitude helped me appreciate the small, grounding moments:
- A warm cup of Chamomile tea at the end of a hard day
- My breath slowing after a long walk
- A text from someone who just gets me
These weren’t grand wins. They were quiet reminders that I was still here, still growing.
Choosing Gratitude as a Daily Practice
It’s easy to be grateful when everything flows. But the real test is choosing thankfulness when things feel heavy. I’ve had to practice that kind of gratitude—the kind that says: This is hard, but I’m learning. This hurts, but I’m healing. This moment is messy, but I’m still thankful to be in it.
Gratitude has become more than a feeling. It’s a habit. A mindset. A tool for personal growth.
A Personal Reflection
Looking back, I’m grateful for every chapter—especially the difficult ones. They taught me how to be still, how to listen, how to grow.
So today, I say thank you:
- Thank you to every setback that pushed me forward
- Thank you to every pause that taught me patience
- Thank you to the version of me who didn’t give up
And thank you to gratitude itself- for being the fuel that keeps me growing.

The A2Z List
Gratitude is the key to inner peace, I believe this. I have also written about gratitude today as I am grateful to the universe for giving me everything I could ask for.
I’ve been practicing gratitude daily, and it’s amazing how it shifts my perspective. Your point about finding thankfulness even during tough times is so true; acknowledging small blessings helps me navigate challenges. I particularly loved your mention of appreciating simple moments, like a warm cup of tea or a kind message—they truly make a difference. Reflecting on past hardships with gratitude has shown me how much I’ve grown.
